The reason we're here is to bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus. We want to see God's kingdom come - that is that his will would be done on earth -- in Hacketstown and the surrounding areas -- just the way it is in heaven. It's all to do with Jesus defeating the things that sin has done to hurt people and to prevent them becoming the magnificent human beings God intends. True Jesus-type Christianity means forgiveness for everything we've done wrong, release from all kinds of captivity, beauty instead of ash-heap lives, healing of brokenness, and a life of true praise to God instead of the darkness of despair. Jesus’ mission is about transformation, not just about information.
Why we are here
If you'd like to talk to someone about what it means to follow Jesus, anyone in Hacketstown Christian Centre would be happy to help you. Don't be afraid to ask. Jesus loves you, you're important to him no matter what has happened in your life, and we want to share some of his love with you too. If you want to say 'yes' to Jesus just where you are, here's a prayer to receive him into your life as your Saviour and Lord:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I have been wandering around following my own way and that I have sinned against you. I return to you now and ask you to forgive me for my sin. I thank you that you took the guilty place on the cross that should have been mine. I receive you now as my Saviour and I submit to you as my Lord. Come into my life and baptise me in your Holy Spirit. I reject the devil and all his works, and every claim he has on my life. By the power of your Spirit I will follow you in your kingdom now and for ever. Thank you for giving me new life and making me a child of God. Amen.
